  1. Where the World is going

  2. Coal • I levels of emission that are harmful to the atmosphere • Not renewable, they will not come back • Burning coal creates sulfur dioxide • Mining for coal is dangerous and time consuming.

  3. Crude Oil (petroleum) • Formed from plants and animals decomposing for millions of years • Burning creates carbon emissions • Recovering oil is inefficient • Oil transportation is very dangerous and spills can occur • Not considered a renewable energy source

  4. Natural Gas • Finite amounts left in the earth • Very expensive to pump out of the Earth • Contributes to green house gasses • Mostly methane • Prone to leaking

  5. Why are renewable energy’s Valuable • They will never run out • Most give off very little or no emissions • Usually have low environment impacts • Will pay for themselves over time • Prevalent in many ecosystems • Do not contribute towards greenhouse gasses

  6. Geothermal Energy Geothermal Power Plant • There are three types of Geothermal energy • Binary • Flash Steam • Dry Steam Coal Power Plant

  7. Binary Geothermal Power • Heat doesn’t need to be extreme • All water used goes back into the Earth • There is Almost no waste of Anything
