The purpose of poster paper presentation is to promote informal discussion. It is a graphic display of your Project to date. The poster presentation stands by itself as a summary of research and usually contains an overview of research objectives, experimental methods, materials, results and a discussion. Figure 3: Example graph To ensure this: ► organise the poster units in an orderly manner for a logical flow from top to bottom, on the left then the right ► use headings and colour ► test your poster by asking a colleague to critique a draft ► start the poster with a clear and concise Aim and Objectives. Follow this with a section on experiments or research methods as appropriate and devote the main part of the poster to your results. ► make liberal use of large photos, figures, tables, diagrams, maps etc ► do not attach typewritten sheets to the poster presentation, as it is impossible to read these from a distance. Conclusions Finish with a brief conclusion. Presenters must submit an A4 handout of their Poster via Coursework Receipting Office and e-mail the PowerPoint file, for the Project Supervisor.
