  1. PLATO™®Web Learning Network Welcome to a quick demonstration of being a student on PLATO!

  2. Register on Website Registering – Once you have decided to upgrade all you need to do is fill in the registration form. Tell us what you are interested in and we will contact you and get you started! We will discuss with you the best times for you to be online and set up your username, password and courses on your student page.

  3. PLATO Sign In Page This is our account and we will provide you with the login information. We will set up an username with you . Simple is best. We will set up a password and again simple is best!

  4. Student Home Page Your main page, the page you will automatically come to when you login – the HOME page. Announcements – will tell you if your instructor/tutor has any news for you to look at. Assignments- There are 2 places to click; one takes you to all your assignments and 1 the Assignment reminders will not only take you to your assignments but also remind you of any assignments that are coming due for completion. Communications – has 3 different sections; New Notifications – If anything has been posted for you to review New Messages- Your instructor/tutor can send private messages to you about your assignments. You can send a message also if you have questions about any of the courses. Discussions – Students and tutors can post topics of interest and post comments. You will see there are 2 Discussion places to click on; 1 button up along the top (green radio button) and here.

  5. Assignment Page When you click on one of the assignment buttons it will take you here. This will be a list of all your assignments. Status button – will show you how much of this section you have completed. Example the many of the circles are half filled which means you are working on these assignments but have not completed. Once you have enrolled we can go into more detail on the other sections. Next we will click on the Capitals heading under training and it will take us to the next slide.

  6. Capitals Activity Once you have clicked on the Capitals activity it will bring you to this page. With most activities there is a tutorial, application and mastery test. It will tell you if what you have done as shown here. The ½ green circle indicates you still need to complete the tutorial. Lets click on the Capital Letters Tutorial

  13. Messages Now back to the Home page And then when you click on messages it will bring you to your messages. Here we see I have messaged this learner . Click to open and use as you would any email system.

  14. Discussions And finally the Discussion Button. Click on this and it will take you to this page where I have set up a discussion on summer classes. To respond, go to New Post, type what you want to say and hit Post

  15. The End........For Now • There is much more to see with this Program, this has just been a quick preview so you can see how easy and fun this program is to use. • One of the great features is the Communication, which includes the messaging and discussion board. • Also you can work independently or be part of a class if others are working on the same activities.
