RULES • Over the years, West Deptford High School has developed rules for overnight trips. The rules have worked well and most students have done just what the school and their parents expect. • Unfortunately, some students chose to ignore the rules and they have faced severe consequences.
Four Types of Infractions • Not being where you are supposed to be • Shoplifting • Not showing respect for chaperones, drivers, flight attendants and Disney personnel • Alcohol, Drugs, and Drug Paraphenlia
Being Where You Are Supposed to be… • Taking medicine at scheduled times • Staying in the correct park. • Being in the room for room check • If you are late, you will make up the time the following day with a chaperone. • NO Girls on Boys Floor and Vice Versa at all times!!!
Shoplifting • High Security! Keep all receipts after purchases. Zero Tolerance in the Magic Kingdom – Disney Jail and Florida Law. • You will be sent home at your expense. Further disciplinary action shall take place back at the high school.
Respect • Students must show respect for the chaperones, drivers, flight attendants, and Disney Personnel. • Please watch your language – you are in a family resort. Think before you speak! • Anyone who violates this rule will spend two hours the following day with a chaperone.
Alcohol, Drugs, and Drug Paraphernalia • The rule here is simple – if we find it on anyone or anyone under the influence, we will notify the local authorities and they will enforce Florida laws. (It could mean that you would remain in Florida or have to return for a court appearance.) • We will then send you home at your own expense….
Alcohol, Drugs, and Drug Paraphernalia (cont.)Consequences • Your son/daughter will be suspended a minimum of 10 days. • Your son/daughter will NOT walk in Graduation. • Your son/daughter will not attend prom or any other activities for the rest of the year.
Passive Alcohol Sensor • On April 12th- when the students arrive at the high school - we will use the passive alcohol sensor before we leave for the airport. • The alcohol sensor will also be used daily during nightly room checks in Disney.
Airport and plane behavior • BRING PHOTO ID –School ID and Drivers License. (ORANGE FORM) • 18years or older – must have a government issued photo ID (NO EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE!) • 17 years old - a school photo ID. • Listen to all of the instructions given by everyone at the airport. • DO NOT use words like BOMB, GUN, or EXPLOSIVE in the airport or plane. • Airport security will arrest you and we will not wait for you.
No News is Good News • If emergency, contact HS Administration or WD Police (# in packet) (GREEN FORM) • Chaperone will be available for assistance with student. • E-mail – bgismondi@wdeptford.k12.nj.us (I receive email through phone!)
Information Packet As you entered this evening you received a packet of valuable information about the trip. This material was prepared to help you and your son/daughter in planning for the trip.

Luggage Drop off April 11th Auxiliary Gym 2:30PM – 3:30 PM Bus # 1: 2:30PM – 3:00 PM Bus # 2: 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM **If you have a game – we will work it out**
Luggage • Baggage is limited to one suitcase that will be checked. It must be less then 50 lbs. or there will be a charge for the extra weight. • One carry-on that will fit under the seat of the plane or in the overhead compartments. • Please read the TSA information sheet to find out what is allowed to be in a carry-on and what is not allowed.
Alcohol, drugs, and drug paraphernalia. • Alcohol, drugs, and drug paraphernalia are not allowed in any of your bags or suitcases. • After everyone’s luggage has been checked, a drug sniffing dog will check the luggage for any illegal substances. • If anything is found students will be denied going with their classmates to Orlando and you will forfeit all monies you have deposited on the trip…plus disciplinary actions.
Traveling Tips • Purchase batteries and camera needs before departing. Disney is expensive. • Leave valuables at home. • They will not be able to get to their checked bag until they get back to the hotel at 11:00 PM. • They will have to keep their carry-on with them the entire first day at the park.
Trip Attire • Wear comfortable shoes • Students may not wear sweat pants/pajama pants on the airplane. • It COULD get chilly at night – bring a sweatshirt. • The sun is different in Florida – bring suntan lotion.
$ Money $ • Your son/daughter will need money to purchase souvenirs, personal needs, snacks and lunches. We are suggesting that students bring a minimum of $200. (DEBIT/PRE-PAID) In the past we have had students spend all of their money on the first day. Make sure they know that the money they have must get them through the whole trip. Keep all receipts.
Hotel Rules • Housekeepers will enter the rooms to clean them. Rooms being abused will be reported immediately to the chaperones. Do not leave valuables out in the room. • Girls are not allowed on the boys’ floor and boys are not allowed on the girls’ floor. • They will only be given one key per room, and that key must be returned to a chaperone each morning before heading to the park.
Trip Information Sheet • Bus Assignment • Reporting Time – 5:00AM • Flight Information (flight #s and departure times) • Hotel information • Directions in case of an emergency which requires a student be contacted in Florida.
Certificate of Attendance (PINK) The certificate of attendance shows that you have attended the meeting and that you give your permission for your son/daughter to go on the senior trip.
Student Cell Phone • We collected students cell phone numbers prior to this meeting • No cell phone numbers will be given out. At the student meeting, all students will be given an two cell phone numbers. • I will use the cell phone list throughout the day to “check in” on all students. • “REMIND 101”
Permission Slip (Light Blue) • This permission slip is for you to sign saying that you have read and understand the rules and regulations of the trip. • On Wednesday, April 9th , your son/daughter will receive the rules and have to sign a slip that they understand rules. Even if your son/daughter is 18, you must sign the permission slip.
Medical Forms You received medical forms in the mail. The yellow medical form must be returned to the nurse whether you are taking medicine or not. (This form was due March 26th) Physician order and parent permission forms (PINK) must be completed for all medication including over the counter meds. Physician order must be signed by the parent and doctor.
Medical Forms Cont. • In the event of an emergency and access to your child’s important information is necessary, each park’s first aid center will be provided with a copy of your child’s medical treatment form. • If a student becomes sick while in the theme park, they should report to the first aid center. • Students should carry their health insurance cards with them if possible.
Carry-on All liquids and gels must be 3oz. or less and fit into a Ziploc bag no bigger than quart size. Anything you carry on you have for the entire day! Checked Bag No more than 50 lbs Any size liquid and gels (suggestion is to put in Ziploc bag in case of spills) All weather gear What to Pack
Carry-On Bag • Must carry all day – will not get bags until 10:30 pm! • All liquids and gels must be 3 oz. or less and no more than what will fit in a quart size Ziploc bag.
Checked Bags • No more than 50 lbs • Any size liquid and gels (suggestion- put these in a Ziploc bag in case of spills) • All weather gear. It is April…. It can be chilly or EXTREMELY HOT!!! Bring layers, especially a sweatshirt. • It usually rains for part of the day in Florida, bring a poncho or an easy to store umbrella. • Don’t forget the sun screen!
Itinerary – Day 1 • Report to High School Gym – 5:00am • Hollywood Studios/Magic Kingdom • 10:00 pm - Parade and Fireworks (Magic Kingdom) • Pizza DELIVERED at Hotel • Lights out MIDNIGHT-ish!!!
Day 2 • 7:30 Wake-up/Breakfast ($8 Meal Card) • 9:00am – Blizzard Beach/Epcot • Everyone at Epcot by 1:30pm • 9 pm Illuminations Light Show • (MEAL CARD FOR LUNCH or DINNER) • Pool Time – 10:00pm • Hotel Room – 11:00pm • Lights out 11:30ish
Day 3 • 7 am Wake-up/Breakfast ($8 Meal Card) • 8:30 am – Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure • *Group Photo at arrival • 6pm – Blue Man Group • 8:15 pm – 10:15 pm – Nascar Café - DJ/Dinner Party • BEGIN TO PACK!!!! • Lights out by 11:30 pm
Day 4 • 7:15 am – Wake-up/Pack/Check-out • 8:00 am – Breakfast ($8 Meal Card) • 8:30 am – Animal Kingdom • Bus - 4:45 – Depart for airport • 10:45 pm – Plane 1 -Arrive at WDHS • 10:50 pm – Plane 2 – Arrive at WDHS
