  1. Adaptations By Olivia J and Tillie P

  2. Introduction • Did you know that birds just know when to migrate? • Animals and plants can survive in different climates. They’re very different place yet each animal has adapted to where the live. • Animals and plants have different adaptations to help them survive such as withstanding weather, getting food, protecting from predators, and reproducing.

  3. Reproducing • Deer have antlers to fight over a female. • Black birds puff out their bellies to attract a female. • Also, seeds pave so that two plants won’t battle for sunlight and will be able to grow.

  4. Getting Food • Alligators sit in murky water until an animal comes to drink then CHOMP!!! • Sheep have flat teeth to help them chew grass. • Plants get their nutrients by sunlight. (PHOTOSYNTHESIS)

  5. Protecting Themselves • Ostriches kick rebound to anything that is anything behind them that they don’t correspond to. • Cacti have spikes so that animals won’t drink their water. • Porcupines have needles that release from their back if a predator approaches.

  6. Withstanding Weather • Trees lose their leaves so chilly heavy snow doesn’t pile up and break their branches. • Bears hibernate in winter staying warm and cozy in the snowy season. • Birds migrate so they don’t freeze to death.

  7. Conclusion Adaptations help animals survive in their habitat. If they didn’t have adaptions they would most likely die. Adaptations help them withstand weather, reproduce, find food, and protect from predators. Fish have gills to help them breath underwater.
