Animals • The Golden Eagle may live to as old as 32. • The Eurasian Lynx is typically 32 to 40 inches long with an additional 4 to 8 inches for the tail. • The White Eagle is the symbol of Poland also, when kings ruled long ago the eagle was shown on the flag.
Climate • Winter one year can be almost without snow, when another year very heavy snows can paralyze transport for days. • Summer can occasionally be cold, wet and disappointing. • January and Febuary are the coldest months.
Food • Perogi is something like ravioli but without sauce. • Bigos is a stew with spiced meat and cabbage in it. • Ice cream is a favorite dessert in Poland it is called lody {luh-dee}.
