  2. Save Jesus, Ignore EasterWashington Post – April 3, 2009 “This is why I'm against Easter. It celebrates the death of Jesus nearly to the exclusion of his life. If the Easter miracle can save us from this life, then why bother with the harder work of enacting the kingdom of God here? It is, after all, much harder.” Erik Reece

  3. Romans 6:1-2 1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?

  4. Romans 6:3-4 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

  5. Romans 6:5 5For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.

  6. Do you “know” Christ this way?“United in Christ” • Irreligious - Run from God to get what they want. • Religious – Serve God to get what they want. • Broken – Joined to Christ to receive what they need.

  7. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 14 For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; 15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
