What is Tawasol? Tawasol = Communication • An application that enables business owners to provide feedback on inspection visits by responding to a short questionnaire • The application include a management dashboard that allows inspectorates to generate reports about the feedback received. Tawasol is available for use via smartphones (iOS and Android), the web, and SMS.
The Purpose of Tawasol • Increase transparency, efficiency and effectiveness of the inspection functions in Jordan • Establish open communication channels with the private sector • Promote the culture of accountability, dialogue and partnership with the private sector in Jordan • Help inspectorates identify strengths and areas of improvement, and introduce enhancements to their processes and procedures

Participating Inspectorates • Greater Amman Municipality • Civil Defense Directorate • Ministry of Labor • More inspectorates will be added in the future
Questionnaire • Each questionnaire consists of around 10 questions that cover the following areas: • Effectiveness and efficiency of the inspection process • Inspector’s behavior, knowledge, and merits • Clarity and transparency of technical requirements • Number of questions is kept low to facilitate ease of use. • Questions are concise, mainly multiple choice, with the ability to add comments. • Questionnaire was designed in consultation with key inspectors, and the private sector. • Tool is flexible and includes skip logic, mandatory questions, and other features.
Dashboard • Inspectorates management and the Higher Committee can view individual and aggregate responses to questionnaires • Dashboards can be generated for questions and indicators allowing quick view of results and trends • Comparisons over time or per geographical location can be generated • Responses to free text questions or comments can be extracted
Sustainability and Continuity • Continuous promotion and marketing • Continuous update and/or addition of questionnaires to address specific issues and developments • Commitment by businesses to provide their feedback on inspection, whether positive or negative • Commitment by inspectorates to utilize the feedback received for the periodic and continuous improvement of inspection systems
