Single Honor (6 courses) and TSM options (3) JF (Year 1): 6 introductory courses, exams (60%) and essays (40%) SF (Year 2): Language options: Hebrew, Greek, Arabic possibility of Schol exam JS (Year 3): exams (70%) and essays (30%) SS (Year 4): Dissertation (12,000 words) and 2 courses per term Structure of 4 year BA course

Theology & Ethics

What is Theological Studies? 1) It treats historical and intellectual development of Christianity and its interaction with cultures it encountered and created 2) It studies major controversies and turning points between antiquity and modernity in the reception of biblical texts 3) It explores the origins of European values in the encounter of monotheism with Greek philosophy 4) It discusses philosophical and theological positions on current ethical challenges (e.g. genetic engineering) Non-Denominational

Religious Studies 1) Explores religion as a cultural force that shaped political history, worldviews, practices, and institutions 2) Disciplines: Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, History, Cultural Studies, and Anthropology 3) Classical texts (e.g. Max Weber, MirceaEliade) and key contemporary authors (e.g. on religion and democracy)
