  2. 3 Levels of governance • Global: Global Steering committee Global Executive Board Global Office • Regional • National GS national coordinator (National Council of Statistics) (Sectoral Committee Agricultural Statistics)

Regional governance: • Regional Steering Committee • Decision-making body at regional level • Provides guidance for implementation • Coordinates with activities not funded by Trust Fund • If necessary a Regional Executive Board • Carry out functions between RSC meetings • Regional Office • Coordinating the implementation • Secretariat • Liaison with GO and countries

  4. Composition of Regional Steering Committees • Countries • Resource partners • Regional organisations • Regional participating partners • FAO • Other stakeholders

  5. What is important • Voice of the countries They are the beneficiaries! • Balance between NSO’s and Ministries of Agriculture Share of responsibilities in many countries • Potential Resource Partners To be associated from the beginning of the process

  6. Good practices • Asia/Pacific and Latin America/Caribbean • Countries (NSO’s and Ministries) • Technical and Financial Partners • Researchers • Global Steering Committee • + Farmers association • System of rotation • Not all the countries need to be represented!
