  2. RTO REGULATIONS AS PER THE GUIDELINES OF RTO AND AS PER RULING OF THE MOTOR VEHICLES ACT ALL COMMERCIAL/ TRANSPORT VEHICLES (LTV, LPV and HTV) SHOULD OBEY THE RULES/GUIDELINES FORMULATED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA.

  4. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR MOTOR OD CLAIM OF COMMERCIAL VEHICLES • VALID DRIVING LICENSE • VALID REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE • VALID ROUTE PERMIT & AUTHORISATION • VALID FITNESS CERTIFICATE • VALID INSURANCE POLICY • VALID TAX PAID SLIP • COPY OF G.R./ WEIGHING SLIP/LOAD DETAILS • POLICE REPORT

  5. OTHER DOCUMENTS WHICH SHOULD BE COLLECTED • COURT RELEASE ORDER • POWER OF ATTORNEY • MECHANICAL INSPECTION REPORT ISSUED BY POLICE IN CASE OF THEFT RECOVERED VEHICLES • STATEMENT OF DRIVER ON THE SPOT • CLAIM FORM DULY FILLED • AFFADAVIT OF INSURED THAT HOW HE BROUGHT HIS VEHICLE TO WORKSHOP • POLICE REPORT/FIRE BRIGADE REPORT IN CASE OF BURNT VEHICLE

  9. NECESSITY OF PERMITS • No owner of a motor vehicle shall use or permit the use of the vehicle as a transport vehicle in any public place whether or not such vehicle is actually carrying any passengers or goods save in accordance with the conditions of a permit granted or countersigned by a Regional or State Transport Authority or any prescribed authority authorising him the use of the vehicle in that place in the manner in which the vehicle is being used.

RTO TRAFFIC RULES FOR VEHICLE PLYING ON ROADS AND ITS IMPACT ON OD CLAIMS • Every driver should possess adequate knowledge and understanding of the following provisions of Motor Vehicles  Act: • Section 122)Leaving vehicle in dangerous position • Section 123)Riding on running board • Section 125)Obstruction to the driver • Section 126)Stationary vehicle • Section 134) Duty of Driver in case of Accident • Section 185)Driving by drunken person or by a person under the influence of drugs • Section 186)Driving when mentally or physically unfit to drive • Overtaking is prohibited at blind turns, corners, hill top, when indicated not to overtake by traffic signal or road markings. • No vehicle other than mechanically disabled vehicle shall be towed by any vehicle.
