I yelled for help, but no one was around to hear my cry. A. Two guys followed me. B. No one was there to help me. C. I was shopping for my mom’s present. D. My purse was stolen.

  3. READ THE PARAGRAPH AND WRITE THE MAIN IDEA. DISCUSS SUPPORTING DETAILS OF THAT MAIN IDEA.BEN’S ROBOT No one has seen Ben for hours because he’s been in the garage designing and creating a robot. Ben’s family is going to be surprised when they see what he has made. He hopes they won’t be mad at him, though. He used the trash can for the robot’s body and his sisters shoebox for the head. He used Mom’s mixing bowl for a hate, his brother’s baseball bat for one arm and a broom for the other arm. Ben borrowed nuts and bolts from his dad’s toolbox for the eyes and nose. He confiscated his sister’s lipstick to draw a jovial smile on his creation. Ben thinks his robot is terrific and hopes his family is just as impressed.

One particular morning John was out splitting wood for the fires when he heard his brother, Joe, screaming. He rushed to the creek to find his brother trapped on rocks by a bear and her cubs. John didn’t have a weapon to protect Joe and himself, so he quickly threw a log to the far end of the creek to distract the mother. The cubs ran away, and the mother bear turned her attention to them. Joe and John raced up the hill to safety. John was called the hero of the day. John didn’t have a weapon to protect Joe and himself, so he quickly threw a log to the far end of the creek to distract the mother.
