  3. Vocabulaire et phrases • Vous désirez – May I help you? What would you like? • Je voudrais – I would like. • Le pourboire – the tip • Laisser – to leave(as in a tip) • Le serveur/la serveuse – waiter/waitress • Une table libre – a free table • La glace – ice cream

Aller- to go • Je vais - I go Nous allons - we go • Tu vas - You go Vous allez - you go • Il va - He goes Ils vont - They go • Elle va - She goes Elles vont - They go This verb is followed by à to denote that you are going to a place. ex. Je vais à Paris. I am going to Paris. Note: this verb is irregular and it’s spelling must be memorized.

Prendre – to take • To put the verb in the usable form, remove the “re” and add the endings. • This is an irregular verb, however, the verbs: apprendre (to learn) and comprendre (to understand) are conjugated in the same manner. prend s nons s nez - nnent This verb is irregular and it’s spelling must be memorized.

  7. Prendre – to take/to have • Je prends Nous prennons • Tu prends Vous prennez • Il prend Ils prennent • Elle prend Elles prennent • On prend Note: When talking about food, prendre is used to mean have.
