The first phase of the Nansha port • The first phase of the Nansha port consists of four 50,000-ton multi-purpose berths with a total of 1,400m in length • The depth of the harbor basin is –13m • The total area is 1,820,000m2 and the CY is 900,000m2 • It is equipped with 12 post-Panamax quayside container cranes, 36 rubber-tyred gantry cranes and a batch of mobile equipment

Second-phase expansion project • The second-phase-expansion project will have four 100,000-ton berths with an annual total capacity of 1.2-1.5 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) • The second-phase-expansion project will cost more than 2.65 billion yuan (US$320 million) and it is expected to be completed before the end of 2007 or early 2008.
