  2. The Abbassid Dynasty led the Golden Age of Islam for Muslims.

  3. An important achievement of the Abbassid Dynasty was the preservation of ancient Greek and Roman ideas. Plato and Aristotle

  4. This led to Muslim advances in math and science, such as developing the study of algebra and astronomy.

  5. The Abbassid Dynasty also developed a large trading network, which allowed Muslims to spread their ideas and become very wealthy.

  6. The Byzantine Empire (formerly the Eastern Roman Empire) controlled key trade routes between Europe and Asia, through its capital, Constantinople.

  7. The Justinian Code was created under the Byzantine Empire and served as a model for later European legal systems.

  8. The Byzantine Empire founded the Eastern Orthodox Church and introduced it to early Russia.

  10. The Mongol Empire was the largest unified land empire in history, created by the Mongols’ use of superior military skills.
