  8. What comes from all of this? Burnout is a gradual process of disillusionment follows four stages:

Fundraiser Burnout • Lack of enthusiasm when talking about event • Missed deadlines leads to group malfunctioning • Lack of Desire (foundation of motivation) • Overwhelmed about making group goals • Feel have no control over outcome of event • Tiredness & lack of energy (most common) • Lack of attention or focus on end result

Avoid Burning Your Volunteers • Provide job descriptions & After Action Reports • “Better to come in scared than come in blind” • Leave plenty of time to play & execute • Set clear project deadlines & stick to them • Delegate tasks & plan contingencies • Keep lines of communication open • Climate Checks & Policies for dealing w/ conflict • Respect volunteer time • Recognize! Recognize! Recognize!
