Final Report: 53rd SDM Structures' Technical Committee Review & Outcomes

The 53rd Society of Experimental Mechanics (SEM) Structures Technical Committee concluded with 179 abstracts accepted out of 240 reviewed. Special sessions focused on aerospace systems, shell buckling, and intertank stringer cracks. Session categories covered various topics such as buckling, fatigue, and composites. Student papers were recognized with Hilton and LM awards. Rob Taylor coordinated student paper submissions.

  2. Submission Statistics • 240 structures abstracts reviewed • Started with 105 reviewers • Approximately 7 reviews assigned per person • Not all reviews could complete their reviews • Ended up with 91 reviewers • 720 reviews completed • 179 abstracts accepted
