  2. Objective Students will be able to graph and solve one variable inequalities and review solving systems of equations using substitution. Homework Due TODAY pg. 308: 3, 5 start by writing the basic information show all your steps √ or X for full points -10 if you don’t check your work

  3. Entrance Quiz Solve the inequality and graph the solution. A rows: B rows: • 3x + 7 > 10 1) 4x + 7 < 9 • 5x – 6 < 14 2) 10x – 8 > 22 When you are done you may silently begin your homework.

  4. Systems of Equations Test Make corrections to improve your grade REVIEW # 5 and # 7. Today’s focus– solving systems using substitution

  5. Solving Systems Review solving by substitution: Substitute an expression for x or y. Do the math to solve for the variable. Substitute your answer (x= or y=)in the 1st equation and solve for the 2nd variable. CHECK-Substitute both variables in the 2ndequation. PRACTICE: y = 2x – 5 y = 1 - x 4x + y = 7 y = 2x + 2

  6. More practice: Solve each system using substitution: pg. 328: 3, 4 3 steps: 1. Substitute and solve for 1st variable 2. Substitute 1st variable in 1st equation and solve for 2nd variable 3. Substitute BOTH answers in 2nd equation to check.
