  1. SICT —— by SICT Solution for the international tracking ofinfectious diseases

  2. About Us … • SICT is a Chinese company. • SICT specializes in databases for scientific research. • Our members • Project Manager: XuGang Zhu • Team members: • Hongling LI Yuanyuan Zhu • Yang Dan Wang Zhen Dong Ping

  3. The Problem: • We have just been awarded the contract to develop a data model for the international tracking of infectious diseases. • Health professionals from all over the world need to be able to register, login, enter data into the database, and query the data. • Eventually, the database will be used to track trends and for some extrapolative modeling based on the accumulated data.

  4. Business needs:(4-1) ● The international Health professionals need to be able to register and login.● The Health professionals can enter and query data about the patients and infectious diseases.● The names of the healthy professionals and their addresses, locations, and contact information are important

  5. Business needs:(4-2) ●The data could track trends of infectious diseases to forecast ●We should track only medical information about the patients. ●The aftereffects of the disease on each patient and the eventual outcome of the patient’s health also need to be tracked.

  6. Business needs:(4-3) ● The prescriptions and treatments given to each patient by a health-care provider are not being tracked this time ● Things like height, weight, age and gender are pertinent for patients are important ● We should track climate and geographical information about the patients and diseases. ● The data should be non-specific personal information

  7. Business needs:(4-4) ● The database will be accessible in English ● All measurement units must be recorded in metric. ●With the data model ,we could forecast infectious disease and treatment become true ●The model should not only record the relationship among the entities but also provide the data source for mankind

  8. Description of project: ● We could search the information a medical database may contain● Read articles and surf the web to understand the challenges of tracking the medical information● Search the information about the infectious diseases everywhere● Apply lots of statistics analysis (example: table) about the infectious diseases to explain disease information

  9. ERD: • The whole ERD focuses on the relationships • Not all attributes are included in it • Some entities have a hyperlink to a more detailed explanation

  11. Sample Application (3-1) • If we have the database, we can generate the following report forms: From this table, we can guess infectious disease may relates to gender .

  12. Sample Application (3-2) From this table, we can guess infectious disease may relates to season .

  13. Sample Application (3-3) From this table, we can guess the disease may relates to age.

  14. Assumptions: ●A patient only infects one infectious disease at the same time ●A patient is examined by one and only one health professional ●Add more information about the patient’s treatment and medicine in the future ●We only record the current patient’s job ●One organization have one and only one linkman

  15. References: ● Websites: http://www.37c.com.cnhttp://www.nankenet.comhttp://www.chinacdc.net.cnhttp://www.hzlschool.comhttp://www.chinaids.org.cn ● Books:<THE INFECTIOUS DISEASE NURSING > <MEDICAL TRREATMENT NURSING SUMMARIZE> <THE CHINESES JOURNAL OF HUMAN SEXUALTY> <BEAT THE FIU> <OCCUPATION AND HEALTH> ● Magazines:<CHINA INFECTIOUS DISEASE MAGAZINE> <WORLD SCIENCE> <CHINESE JOURNAL OF PREVENTIVE MEDICINE>

  16. Some Recommendations: • We think • multi-language support is of benefits. • the prescriptions and treatments given to each patient is very useful information. • It’s better to track some personal information about infectious disease • It’s necessary to write down when the health professional enter data into the database

  17. SICT That is all! Thank you!

  18. INFECTIOUS DISEASE: The entity description:(9-1) >> It’s a disease which is risen by the pathogen. This disease can infect among the people .Once one person infect it ,others may be infect quickly. >> Some of the infectious disease could recrudescence after a long time and some of the disease can change with the time going. Lots of the diseases are renascent. Some of people can not infect the same infectious disease after he/she has been cured ,but some are not. Return to ERD

  19. HEALTH PROFESSIONAL: The entity description:(9-2) >> The end users for the database. They are responsible for entering all kinds of data about patients and diseases. They can query the database for their research. >> They can locating, revise, renewal the information of the disease. >> An expert can register the database and can search the disease information about the patient. Rturn to ERD

  20. GUIDELINE : The entity description:(9-3) >> The meaning of the check-up is a physical examination, can test a person's healthy condition. >> The measure guideline is different in distinct disease. So weuse generic model to solve the question of a large of the attributes. Return to ERD

  21. CLIMATE: The entity description:(9-4) >> Climate is a weather instance summed up after many years’ text in an area. It is effected by airflow, latitude, height, terrain and so on.>> The diseases also resulted by it.so we record the information about seasons , for example start time ,end time, average temperature and average rainfall. Return to ERD

  22. PATIENT: The entity description:(9-5) >> A patient is a person who is ill and needs treatment.>> We must record patient’s correlative attribute . For example :age ,height, weight, gender, and so on. Return to ERD

  23. SOURCES OF INFECTION : The entity description:(9-6) >> The fountain of contagion is a person or an animal with pathogen inside and ejects outwards constantly.>> It’s the root of contagion. Return to ERD

  24. SYMPTOM: The entity description:(9-7) >> Symptom is an expceptional status when the diseases happen to the organism, such as cough, hidropoiesis. >> Record the patient’s symptom, for example feeling sick, coma, throwing up and so on . Return to ERD

  25. SYMPTOM TYPE: The entity description:(9-8) We can classify disease into different type according to cause and effect that the disease produces. Such as the portent being able to be if patient have caught an infectious disease such as coughing , throwing up,we can say portent being also to may divide a type's therefore. Return to ERD

  26. SEASON: The entity description:(9-9) >> Season is a period which has a certain trait in a year. >> Season is one the most important factors that affects the infectious disease. Some of the diseases deliver much in summer, but lots of diseases in autumn more. For example:phthisic, scarlet and so on are more begeted in winter. Return to ERD
