  1. Four Evaluation Questions!

  2. In what way does your music video and product use, develop or challenge forms of conventions of real media products? We have used typical conventions of real media products by having a narrative which many typical videos have eg. Taylor swift love story. Another convention is an element of live performance , just like Jessie j does in her video domino. However we have challenged these conventions by adding in stop motion to add a fresh and quirky style. The use of mise-en-scene In our music video follows the conventions as we have used well known places , such as a house kitchen, bedroom. we have used props such as a phone this is an object that the audience can relate to easily. The costuming in our music video is a typical girl next door look taking inspiration from Taylor Swift. Most female artist are flirty and give off the expression of being a good role model and independent we tried to do this with Evie Green by looking at females such as Beyonce. Taylor swift uses a bedroom

  3. Representation of Evie is a girl next door, who is a good role model to all young girl out there. Following the typical conventions of other artist such as Demi lovato. Typical album cover have the conventions of the artist on the front cover, there name , the name of the album and on the back a track list which I have followed in my album cover. However have challenged these convention by adding in an email address and producer. The album advert has typical conventions to such as again the artist , the name of the album , star rating and the due date. I have again followed these convention but have also added where you can buy the album from , however I have just used picture as I feel the audience will easily relate to the pictures.

  4. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary text? I have created a house style with the colour red as I have taken inspiration from Rihanna, using a set background colour of pink and highlighting the picture of Evie in red to enhance her already red hair. I have used the same picture in my album advert as I have on the front cover of my album this is in order to reinforce the star image of Evie Green and the audience can easily relate. I have promoted my artist through my ancially products by having Evie Green as the centre piece of both the album cover and album advert. I have also used tie dye in my album cover as this is to helps the audience recognise Evie’s fashion range of tie dye clothing. The font I have used is ‘Lovetoness’ which has little hearts with-in the writing, I feel this is Evie’s style and fit perfectly with her star image. The ancially product appeal to my target audience as it has Evie Green as the centre piece, this will appeal to young girl that see her as a role model and also the men as she is an attractive girl who is positioned and lit flatteringly. The album has a track list a which will appeal to the audience as they will know what the album is about , the sort of themes of her songs. The album and album advert stand out with the vibrant colour of red.

  5. What have you learnt from your audience research? Our intended audience is 16-25 year's olds, it is aimed at mainly girls as they understand and can relate to the theme of the song . The song is about the breakdown of a relationship. Here is the results from our audience feedback.

  6. From our feedback we have discovered we did well with the lighting in the live performance as many people liked the choice of the red and purple. Most people commented on our use of stop motion and felt that it was very clever, as well as this they liked the way in which we used Andrew Goodwin’s illustrate in the narrative of the story. They felt the way we shortened our clips helped the video to become fluent and the editing of the clips as well as the lip syncing was done well. However on some of our feedback a section of our lip sync was out, as a group to improve this we need to take more time when matching the lyrics and vision. Another comment was make about the lighting in the kitchen scene this was all natural light however extra lighting could be brought into it next time. Finally people commented on the fact that some of our stop motions had nothing to do with the video, so to improve we need to plan and research this section better. From our feedback the audience thought that we appealed to our target audience and that the music video fitted the genre of indie pop. They thought that the narrative was clear and fluent and that we got across the breakdown of a relationship.

  7. How did you use new media technologies in the construction, research, planning and evaluation stage? We used digital technology in the planning and research stage of our music video by…… Word press which we used for our blog. Google which I got images and information off. YouTube , where I research other music videos Illustrator and Photoshop for ancially products. During the production of our music video we used…… Adobe premier pro for editing. Camera for filming. Green screen and PowerPoint for the evaluation. Mac computers for ancially products
