  1. Spectrometer Integration Issues Spectrometer Review 26/3/2014Input from S. Girod, V. Clerc, F. Galleazzi

  2. 2013 CDR layout Spectrometer Review - Integration issues Ans Pardons CERN, EN/MEF

  3. Free MBPS magnet Consequences of magnet size & weight: • 18 tons, can be separated in top &bottom part of 7.5t each + base of 3t.  can be handled with TCC4 crane Cost of dismantling, assembling? (< 30kCHF, not in CDR) • Dimensions of pieces: 1670mmx1740xmm xheight˜800mm but only ˜1300mm free width in tunnel.  needs vertical transport Cost of special handling tools estimated at 100kCHF (in CDR) 1740 1670 Spectrometer Review - Integration issues Ans Pardons CERN, EN/MEF

  4. Overhead crane limit - CNGS • Crane can take 7.5 tons but limited range: End of TCC4 Crane trolley & hook limit Crane trolley & hook limit Spectrometer Review - Integration issues Ans Pardons CERN, EN/MEF

  5. Overhead crane limit - AWAKE • Other standard lifting systems limited to ~3 tons 5T: 1.4m 7.5T:1.6m wall Crane trolley & hook limit Crane trolley & hook limit 5T: 0.4m 7.5T:0.6m 1.8m 1.8m Spectrometer Review - Integration issues Ans Pardons CERN, EN/MEF

  6. Racks for all: where? Passage should remain free! Integration studies ongoing but needs input from equipment owners First ideas Racks of 2m height Spectrometer Review - Integration issues Ans Pardons CERN, EN/MEF

  7. Racks & ventilation ducts Final duct routing not defined yet, should be available in ~2 weeks Racks can be shielded (≤80cm?) but should leave passage free First ideas Racks of 2m height (integration studies ongoing) Spectrometer Review - Integration issues Ans Pardons CERN, EN/MEF

  8. You are not alone… Therefore we need your input a.s.a.p! Racks? passage Vacuum tube? 2013 CDR Layout + Wall Spectrometer Review - Integration issues Ans Pardons CERN, EN/MEF

  9. We need urgently… Your needs in • Cables (number, length, diameter/type, start&end) • Electronics racks (volume needed & where, shielded?) • Power supplies (characteristics, location, …) • Space (for any equipment in the underground galleries) Integration takes time, so please send this as soon as possible(and as precise as possible) so we can make sure you get what you need!
