  5. H.M.H.S. BRITANNIC • Web Site • The loss of the hospital ship, HMHS Britannic has elements of a mystery since her loss as a result of hitting a German mine during World War 1. One of the enigmas surrounding her sinking was the quickness of her demise - 55 minutes compared to her sister ship, Titanic, which sank in 160 minutes.
