Haiku. Haiku is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Haiku poems consists of 3 lines. A syllable is a part of a word pronounced as a unit. It is usually made up of a vowel alone or a vowel with one or more consonants. The word “ syllable ” has three syllables: syl-la-ble. Haiku.

  1. Haiku • Haiku is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Haiku poems consists of 3 lines. • A syllable is a part of a word pronounced as a unit. It is usually made up of a vowel alone or a vowel with one or more consonants. The word “syllable” has three syllables: syl-la-ble

  2. Haiku • The syllable pattern of a Haiku is 5, 7, 5. The first and last lines of a Haiku has 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. • Since the Haiku poetry only has 3 lines to work with, Haiku poems are usually written about one simple thing.

  3. Haiku • Today you will choose one interesting but simple idea from the lesson on Cesar Chavez. • Write your own Haiku on the first section of your assignment. Here are some examples…
