  2. SSC is a staff selection committee. It is an authority set-up by the Indian government for the selection of staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments. This authority worked at both state and central level for the recruitment of aspirants based on positions. The SSC has a regional set-up to conduct exams smoothly. The main headquarter of SSC is in New Delhi, India. However, it has seven regional offices at Allahabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, Guwahati, Bangalore, and two sub-regional offices at Raipur and Chandigarh. Chairman headed this commission with the assistance of two members and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations.
