  5. Agenda Books • Includes all school policies – also posted on the website • Used to record homework in each class • $5 for replacement books • Parents are encouraged to check the agenda book daily.

  6. School Schedule • First class begins at 7:55AM • 7 Classes • 4 Minutes for Passing • 30 Minutes for Lunch • Dismissal is at 2:40PM

  8. Student Academic Progress • Please Check Edline • Grades will be posted by ID number inside/outside each classroom every two weeks. • Interim Reports will available via Edline at the midway point of each quarter.

  12. Attendance • Doors open at 7:30AM • All students are expected to be in class ready to begin by 7:55AM • Dismissal at 2:40PM • Absences • Call the office morning of absence OR Send email to EMSAttendance@mcpsmd.org • Please send note with student upon return

  13. Visiting Eastern • Parents and Guardians are welcome anytime / any day Join your student for lunch Sit in on a class • Please sign-in in the main office upon arrival

  14. After-School Activities • Activities Begin September 10 • Sports, Clubs, Academic Support • Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays • Activity Buses are available • Activity updates given regularly • 100 Hallway Bulletin Board • AM Announcements • Email • Activities Booklet

How Can You Support Your Student’s Success • Support students attendance everyday and on time • Monitor Agenda Book • Quiet Place for Homework • Review Completed Homework • Review academic progress • Communicate concerns with teacher and counselor • TRUST and VERIFY • Monitor behaviors in and out of school • Ask a lot of questions • Get to know their friends • Monitor internet usage
