  2. Assignment • Use the Internet to search for a used car, find one that suits the criteria • Determine approximate costs associated with the car (gas, insurance, maintenance, etc.) • Prepare information in a PowerPoint presentation report

  3. Criteria • Your buying budget is limited to $5000 • The car must be located in New Brunswick • You must find a car under 10 years old • The add must feature a photograph • The add must specifically say that the car is currently safety inspected • DO NOT attempt to contact the seller

  4. Your Report • Prepare slides showing the following • Where and how you discovered the ad • All info from the original ad, including pic(s) • An approximation on the car’s fuel consumption, along with a budget for yearly fuel expenses. Base this on a gasoline price of $1.30 per litre, diesel - $1.40 per litre. • The price of four new tires • Information from a reliable consumer reports site, pros and cons for this make and model car • An approximation on what you (16 year boy or girl) might pay to insure this car

Evaluation • Top marks will be awarded to presentations that answer all criteria in ample detail, follow instructions thoroughly and adhere to the following points. • Presentation must be free of spelling, grammatical and formatting errors. • Presentation must show ALL URLS from which information was taken. Active links should be included • Presentation should be structured in a logical and straightforward manner, all slides clearly titled • A tasteful use of PowerPoint features like animation, clipart, backgrounds etc should be used to enhance the aesthetic of the presentation.
