Planning: What is a Strategic Plan? • Definition of Strategic Plan: • Systematicprocess of envisioning a desired future, and translating this vision into broadly defined goals or objectives and a sequence of steps to achievethem • Process of Strategic Plan • A strategic plan looks at all the things your organization can do and narrows it down to the things it is actually good at doing. A strategic plan also helps leadership determine where to spend time, human capital, and money

  5. 7 Questions: • What can our organization do better than any other organization? • What is our Mission Statement? • What is our Vision Statement? • What are our Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT)? • What are our goals? • What are our objectives? • Do we have the resources needed to achieve our plan?

  6. Actionable and measurable objectivesare the foundation for the action plan of strategic planning.

What does your organization do better than any other organization? • Create a strategic plan that build on the strengths of your organization. • Communicate. Know what leadership expects, and let leadership know how this plan supports the vision of your organization. • Develop a budget that supports the growth goals outlined in the strategic plan.
