  19. Guidance and Discipline • At Teddy Bear Preschool we provide an interesting and fun learning environment for our children with many opportunities for the children to choose what they would like to do. We believe that a challenging environment that allows them to experiment and explore promotes good behavior. • If a child is unable to show self-controlling behavior a brief time out may be used to help the child re-group. • As a last resort the child will be sent to the office. • If the child is hurting themselves or others they will be physically removed from the situation. • If inappropriate behavior continues on three occasions a meeting will be set up with the parents and teacher to discuss solutions.

  20. Guidance and Discipline • If a child’s behavior is extreme enough to interfere with the learning of others, the child may need a different learning environment. • Parents will help to discuss alternatives that may include a behavior plan. • Suspension or expulsion may be imposed if necessary.

  21. Birthdays and Special Events • We understand that children enjoy celebrating their birthdays and other special events. Parents are welcomed to bring a treat to share with the entire class on those special days. Please just make arrangements with the teacher a few days in advance. • Parents are also encouraged to visit their child’s classroom anytime they would like. We especially encourage parent involvement during class parties and fieldtrips.
