  1. Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs) Premature Ventricular Contractions also know as Premature Ventricular Complexes are caused by abnormal electrical activity (premature beat) in the lower two chambers of the heart

  2. Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs) Occasionally premature beats may be caused by disease or injury to the heart. If you have had Heart disease or Heart Failure you are susceptible to PVCs

  3. Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs) Patients describe PVC as a feeling of "palpitation" or "skipped beat”. Individuals with frequent PVCs may experience a fluttering sensation in the chest or neck. Individual may also experience weakness, dizziness or fainting.

  4. Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs) Almost everyone has PVCs at some time, incidence of PVCs increase with age. PVC is most common in older people who have heart disease and in people who have a family history of abnormal heart rhythm

  5. Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs) Premature Ventricular Contraction can be controlled by eliminating risk factors such as caffeine, tobacco and alcohol intake and by reducing stress and anxiety

  6. Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs) Beta blocker medication may be prescribed for patients with PVCs Catheter ablation (using heat, cold or radio frequency to scar tissue inside the heart) can also be used for patients for patients with frequent PVCs

  7. Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs) Greater the frequency of the PVCs, the greater the long term effects on the heart PVC patients often develop cardiomyopathy (lax heart muscles that are unable to pump blood effectively), which may in turn lead to heart failure
