Summary • Billy receives weather chart and is aware that something very heavy is on the way if they set sail. • The worried members thoroughly prepare the ship and Billy oversees the engine. • They make it halfway home to the western edge of the banks. • They get news of the developing hurricane and take alternate route into the cold water of the Labrador Current.

  3. Summary Continued • The first sight of the storm comes late on October 26th. • Hurricane hits around 7pm on October 28th near Sable Island. • The ships survive the storm for a couple of days, but eventually lose total radio and antenna signal at sea. • For the first time, they are completely alone.
