  1. TITLE: Energy analysis in Plastic Injection Molding MACHINE ChooChi Sien(Leader) Chew Lim Sim Ooi Chung Pang Team: dynamite Universitiutaramalaysia Contact: chisien1130@Live.com / 017-558 0700

  2. Objective OF PROJECT • To assist owners and operators of plastics manufacturing facilities select different injection molding parameter • To save energy and improve cost effectiveness of their operations • To maximize the integration of energy efficiency • To act as a guideline for industry to reduce cost of production & electrical consumption significant OF PROJECT To reduce manufacturing costs To increase business competitiveness To reduce carbon emissions

  3. Mold Close -> High Clamp -> Injection -> Holding Pressure -> Plasticizing -> Cooling -> Mold Open -> Ejection The process went through 8 operating steps…

  4. solution! What’s problem of the PROCESS? • Plasticizing stage consumeshighelectrical energy = high carbon emission mm/s, Pa Set different set of machine parameter Power On Machine Current logger record the data Calculate Total distribution of energy (First stage) Optimize the data (Final Stage) Energy Map formed (Second stage)

  5. SCOPE OF PROJECT Thermoplastics (polycarbonate) 265°c ~ 315°c Kyoritsu KEW5020 Current Logger • Constant variable: Size of the mold, Clamping force UniMap Electricity Input: 415V Injection velocity (mm/s) Injection pressure (psi) Nissei NEX500

  6. Thank you
