  2. What is Reverse Engineering? Reverse Engineering is the process of taking apart an object to either make it better or copy it.

  3. When was reverse engineering first used? Reverse engineering was first recognized with the military. The Soviets ( Russians ) stole an American helicopter and took it apart. The helicopter was reversed by the Soviets and never found again.

  4. What are the legal/illegal issues of reverse Engineering? Reverse Engineering is very legal. It is said to be an important way to find new discoveries in mechanical technology. However, legal terms and guidelines for revere engineering with computer software and hardware is less clear.

  5. Why is reverse engineering important? Reverse engineering is important because it leads the way to finding new discoveries in creating new products and making old ones better. It allows engineers to take apart a product to figure out how it works and enhance the product’s quality.
