  3. OELMA • Jack Gantos was awesome! • Allison Zmuda has interesting ideas…some to which I’m philosophically opposed • Jack Gantos was inspiring! • Audacity and Flip cameras will be used this year at WSHS • Jack Gantos signed books for Zach and Deb!

  4. OELMA • What did our other attendees think? • If you didn’t attend OELMA, start looking at eTech in February and get your registration info to Linda Cannon early.

  5. Newsletters • Help save your position – Promote Yourself • Every 9 weeks; at least every semester • Include: • Professional Development activities • Collaborative activities • Pictures of kids in the MC • Standards being met

  7. Web Presence You need to be out there! • Easy to use – stable • Wikispaces • Google sites • Glogster (in a wiki) • Dynamic • Blogs • Combo • Aggregators NetvibesSymbalooOnly2Clicks

  8. Web Presence • Pick something you can maintain easily • Send the address to Matt Davis • Have an icon installed on the computer desktops • Put a blurb in the parent newsletter • Notify the teachers and show it to them at the next staff meeting • Use it all the time with the kids

  9. Web 2.0 • Places to go to find great tools • Best of the EdTech Web slideshare • ALA’s Top 25 Tools 2010 • Learning Commons • Pick a couple and start implementing them as often as possible

  10. Think About • How do YOU contribute to student achievement? • What can YOU do to improve test scores? • How do YOU assess what students are learning? • How are YOU conveying your importance as a learning specialist?

  11. Waiver Day in May • Present a session! • Co-host with a content area teacher • Make it applicable to all ages • Show how you are using technology

Destiny Procedures • Committee to work on them? • Upload to wiki or Google sites • Ideas: • Importing MARC records • Fines (collecting at other schools) • Textbooks (returning to other schools) • Purchasing • Site specific subjects • How to best provide training to newcomers • What questions did you want answered first?
