Make sure all steps are done correctly and thoroughly. • Check your teacher’s website for more information. • Print out a copy of the PowerPoint to give to your teacher, submit it to turnitin.com, and bring on flash drive OR email to your teacher.

  5. Poet’s Biographical Information • This is where you will share information about your poet’s life. Important facts ONLY!!! Make it interesting…You are teaching the class about your poet.

  6. Poet’s Inspiration to Write • Why did your poet decide to start writing poetry? Why do they write in general? What was their inspiration? Who/What influenced them? What influenced their styles and themes of their poetry? (any or all of these)

  7. Major Historical Events in Poet’s Lifetime • After researching your poet’s life, what were some of the major historical events that occurred? You might write this section in timeline form or in bullets explaining those events. • Major historical events = what was happening in the world during your poet’s life • Example: Hemingway lived during World War I.

  10. Critical Analysis of Poem #1 • After finding 1 critical analysis article on your poem #1, what does it say? What does the author of the criticism like or dislike about the poem? Share their viewpoints on the poem.

  11. MLA Works Cited Page • Cite your 3 sources for this project: 1 must be a book, 2 others may be eBooks or sources from the library digital databases. • Put your 3 sources in alphabetical order by author’s last name. • Watch all punctuation! Remember the hanging indention!
