Reading Harcourt Reading Series… • Reading stories are grouped thematically into clusters or anthologies • Typically one story is covered per week • Vocabulary words are given weekly • Instruction occurs in large group settings and small ability groups

Homework Sometimes corrections will be sent home. • Homework will be sent home in homework folders Monday through Thursday • One or two pages per night
Homework • When children forget their homework, they can complete it at second recess or take it home the next night. • Writing assignments can have errors. Math homework should be without mistakes. • Homework should not take more than 20 minutes per night.
