  6. Numbers - e.g. used as indicators - play a key role in informing policy-makers

  7. Contrary to public belief, people like numbers

  8. Don't be scared about communicating numbers if they convey a message

  9. And don't be scared about communicating uncertainty – even if politicians don't like it
