Frequently Used Terms • Goldenrod – gold 2010/11 CYSA team roster • “Blue” Goldenrod (aka, “bluerod”) – blue 2011 Coast & Bay Spring League team roster • 1601 – Youth membership form • 1628 – Adult reg form, disclosure form • 1606 – Roster change form (transfer/release) • 2010/11 playing year – fall and spring season • CCSL – CYSA-Cal Soccer League • “New player” – not on a 2010/11 CYSA roster

What Has Changed • Player 1601’s – you distribute electronically; families complete, print, sign and give to you • Spring roster size • 11v11 spring teams can have a maximum of 22 players • 8v8 spring teams can have a maximum of 18 players • Adults • Adults only can be rostered as Coach, Assistant Coach or Team Manager • Any adult working with players must be rostered as Coach or Assistant Coach • All Coaches and Assistant Coaches must meet license requirements by 9/1/2011

It’s February and My Team is Folding • 2010/2011 teams (your official Goldenrod team) are “active” for the full CYSA year – August through July • A disbanded or folded team is still active • Do not destroy or give away player passes • Official transfers must still be completed for any player to move off your team to another 2010/11 CYSA team Goldenrod

Misc To Know • SASC Comp Uniform policy • Practice field and winter lighted field space allocated based on number of team volunteer hours and CYSA Cup play (winter lighted fields) • All comp teams are expected to complete 3 hours of volunteer time, per season, per player registered • Adult referee requirements – 5 games per team • PCA requirements

  11. SASC Financial Aid • SASC Scholarships – qualification via Sunnyvale Community Services; an annual requirement based on the calendar year • SASC Financial Assistance for Expenses • Information is on the SASC web site

Spring vs. 10/11 CYSA Goldenrod • Most teams only need to maintain the CCSL Coast/Bay Spring League roster • Maintain both rosters if … • playing in CYSA Cup • playing any CYSA sanctioned tournament between now and August • playing any USYSA sanctioned tournament between now and August • August 2011 CYSA tournaments • Check specific tournament’s rules • In some cases can be played on EITHER your 10/11Goldenrod or your 11/12 Goldenrod

Spring 2011 Registration Process • CCSL Coast/Bay Spring League online team application submitted by February 15th • Complete and submit your team packet ASAP • Soccer box on Deanne’s porch • Deadline is February 18th • Packets processed as received (date order) • Completed packets back from Colleen • Email sent when team packet is ready for pickup • Soccer box on Colleen’s porch

The Perfect Team Registration Packet • Registration check list – posted on SASC web site • Team registration envelop label completed • CCSL spring playing league online team application completed • Online SASC fall comp team volunteer form completed • Completed 2011 Spring Team Roster spreadsheet • Check for team’s spring league fee • Player and adult paperwork/photos • 10/11Comp Team Players • Player coming from another 10/11 comp team – you need their signed 1601 from current team, or have the parents complete & sign a new one (you keep this, don’t turn it in to me) • Photos needed ONLY if not on team’s 10/11 Goldenrod • Adults on team’s 10/11 Goldenrod – nothing needed • New CYSA player • Completed and signed 1601 (original & a copy) • Photo • Copy of POA document • New adult staff • Completed and signed 1628 (original & a copy) • Photo • Copy of highest level coach license (required for all head and asst coaches) • Fees or financial assistance forms for all players • $110 for 10/11 CYSA registered players • $135 for “new” CYSA player

Getting Ready to Play • Laminate & hole punch passes for new players/adults only (passes w/photos) • Create team binder • Hook ring w/passes into binder rings • Spring “blue” Goldenrod • Player 1601s in order listed on “blue” Goldenrod • Have on field at ALL times (practices too!) • Red card send off information (check playing league web sites)
