Why use the Tree Jack • Saves time and $$$ by separating and removing wellhead components without the use of work over rig. • Reduces rig up time. • Reduces shock load on cranes while attempting to separate tree from wellhead. • Safe System – Minimizes exposure of personnel to typical hazards associated with removing wellhead components. • Verifies that tubing hanger is free & tubing has been properly cut.   4. Requirements • Type H & National back pressure valve profiles are required. • An extended neck hanger is required for adapter flange removal. Copyright by B&B Oilfield Services, Inc. 2009

How it works • Hydraulic forces pushing against back pressure valve threads separating wellhead flanges or tree valves with forces up to 160,000 lbs. • Tree Jack assembly is installed onto the threads of the tree cap. • Separation can take place at any vertical run flange of the tree assembly. • Separation is not limited at the tubing spool and the tubing head adapter. How it works • Determine Tree Jack pusher rod length by measuring from back pressure valve threads to approximately two thirds to three quarters of Tree Jack window. • Install push rod into back pressure valve threads. • Install Tree Jack over push rod and secure to tree cap threads. • Apply pressure to the upper hydraulic connection generating up to 160,000 lbs. of separation force. • Once tree is separated, dismantle Tree Jack and remove tree from well.
