There once was a speedy rabbit who bragged about how fast he could run. 2.Tired of hearing him brag, a turtle challenged him to a race. 3. The two started the race, and quickly the rabbit was in the lead. 4. After awhile he decided to take a nap. 5.The rabbit slept too long, and the turtle won the race. Students, you already know how to look at details from a story and determine the central message. Another word for central message is theme. Now, we will determine a theme of literature.
