Jesus Works through His Church. April 22. Think About It …. If you have to be away, who do you get to pick up your mail? To watch your pet? To take care of your kids? To take care of your work responsibilities How would you feel if they left those tasks undone?. Think About It ….
And the task is still not finished!
Matthew 16:13-14 (NIV) hen Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
Matthew 16:15-19 (NIV) "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
This Truth – the fact of Jesus’ being the Son of God – this is the foundation stone of the church
Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV) Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
How can knowing that Jesus is always with us make a difference as we are going?
