  1. Leveraging Item Unique Identification for Property Accountability Ms. Amber Propert April 4, 2014

  2. IUID in Accountability • Used as a primary data field to connect property, financial, maintenance, and other DoD systems. • Enables data exchanges to happen electronically versus repeated manual entry • Provides a common marking element between government and industry

  3. IUID connections • New equipment delivered via Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) with an IUID will • Automatically update the IUID Registry • Be available for system consumption through Global Exchange (GEX) • Custody transfers using WAWF • Enables contractor to execute electronic receipt transactions • Electronic receipt is recorded in IUID Registry and updates GFP info • DoD Accountable Property Systems can use IUID to receive specific data • Pilot program developed using WAWF to transfer custody and perform delivery • Data automatically received in Property System for DoD consumption

  4. DPAS/WAWF Capability Requirements • DPAS/WAWF Interface Requirements: • Receipt for GFP in WAWF • Preposition national stock number (NSN) in DPAS Catalog to eliminate manual data entry • Retrieve NSNs based on part number (PN) • Preposition data for “Contracts” and “Contractors” tables • Outcome: • Receipt for GFP in WAWF • Equipment Accountability & Visibility (EAV) of GFP in DPAS • Controlled Item Inventory Code (CIIC) “A” items serially managed • Minimal manual input
