  2. Introduction Sorbsan Dressings are highly effective and easy to apply calcium alginate dressings which have excellect fluid handling and haemostatic properties. It is available in various presentations and sizes which are as follows:-

  3. Sorbsan Flat Dressings Sorbsan Flat Dressings is a non-woven calcium alginate dressing which forms a gel when applied to the wound. It can be washed away from the wound with normal saline for pain-free dressing removal. It is suitable for use on moderate to heavily exuding wounds.

  4. Sorbsan Packing Sorbsan Packing is suitable for the management of larger cavity wounds with moderate to high level of exudate. Its alginate fibres absorb exudate forming a gel which completely surrounds the wound cavity. It is also available with the addition of silver to control and prevent infection.

  5. Sorbsan Plus Sorbsan Plus dressing has sorbsan contact layer and a superabsorbent secondary layer. The Sorbsan layer gels on contact with exudate whilst excess exudate is drawn into the secondary superabsorbent layer. It is suitable for use on heavily exuding wounds.

  6. Sorbsan Plus Carbon Dressings Sorbsan Plus Carbon Dressings is a charcoal dressing with calcium alginate wound contact layer. It is integrated with a super-absorbent secondary layer and an activated charcoal layer for the management of wound malodour.

  7. Sorbsan Plus Border Dressings Sorbsan Plus Border Dressings is an calcium alginate wound contact layer with an integrated super-absorbent secondary layer and adhesive border. It is used for the management of moderately to highly exuding wounds. It can manage wounds with minor bleeding or where blood is present in exudate.

  8. Sorbsan Ribbon Sorbsan Ribbon is a calcium alginate cavity ribbon with a sterile probe. It is indicated to be used for moderately to heavily exuding cavity wounds, including for tunnelling wounds or sinus wounds. It helps to manage wounds with minor bleeding or where blood is present in exudate.
