  4. Richard Pryce Chief Executive Officer Richard Pryce joined QBE European Operations as Deputy Chief Executive Officer in September 2012 and became Chief Executive Officer on 1 October 2013. Richard has worked in the London insurance market for 30 years. Born in Suffolk, he gained an Honours degree in History at the University of Lancaster following which he moved to London and began his underwriting career with R.W Sturge syndicate in Lloyd’s where he became Claims Director. His next move in 1996 took him to Oakham (which was subsequently acquired by ACE) as Professional Lines Class Underwriter for Syndicate 204. Remaining at ACE he went on to run their Financial Lines business in London before becoming President of ACE UK, where he was responsible for its London market speciality business, including Lloyd’s operations, and the company’s property and casualty insurance business in the UK and Ireland.

  5. David Winkett Chief Financial Officer David joined QBE in 2000 and was appointed Finance Director of Limit later that year when it was acquired by QBE. David was appointed Chief Financial Officer of QBE EO in September 2004.He chaired the Lloyd’s Market Association Finance Committee from 2008 to 2010 and is a member of the Lloyd’s Investment Committee. He is a chartered accountant and spent 10 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers working extensively with Lloyd’s, London market and international insurance companies.

  6. Phil Dodridge Chief Risk Officer Phil joined QBE in 2000 as Chief Actuary of the Major Risks Division and became Chief Actuary of QBE Insurance (Europe) in 2004. He was appointed as Operations Director of QBE Insurance (Europe) in 2005 and joined the board of Limit in 2006. In 2007 he was appointed Chief Actuarial Officer for QBE European Operations, and in 2009 his role was extended to that of Chief Risk Officer. Prior to QBE, he spent 10 years as a consultant actuary within the general insurance practice of Watson Wyatt. Phil has accumulated experience in a wide range of areas including business planning, capital modelling, reserving, catastrophe aggregate management, reinsurance, acquisitions, pricing and performance monitoring.

Colin O’Farrell Chief Underwriting Officer, International Markets Colin entered the insurance industry in 1984 when he joined the marine underwriting department of the Insurance Company of North America (UK) Ltd. He left in 1986 to assist in establishing Syndicate 1036 at Lloyd’s, with Neil Copping as the Active Underwriter. In 1992 Colin became the Energy Underwriter and in 1997 he was appointed Syndicate Deputy. Following Neil’s retirement in June 2002 Colin became the Active Underwriter and in 2007 assumed the role of Managing Director, Marine & Energy, for QBE EO. In January 2011, the Marine and Energy team came together with the Aviation business to form the Marine, Energy and Aviation Division (MEA).

  8. Jonathan Parry Chief Underwriting Officer, QBE Re Jonathan has 28 years’ experience in the London reinsurance market and joined Lloyd’s Syndicate 566 in September 2000. He became Syndicate Deputy in 2002 and Active Underwriter in 2005. Jonathan continues to hold this role and in addition has responsibility for the Reinsurance Division.

  9. Joe Gordon Chief Operating Officer Joe has over 15 years’ insurance sector experience with leading blue chip organisations. He joins from Zurich Insurance Group where he led the IT and Business Change functions at Zurich’s UK General Insurance Division and prior to that held senior Operations and IT roles at American International Group.

Dominic Clayden Claims Director Dominic joined QBE European Operations in December 2013 as Claims Director.  He is responsible for leading the claims teams across all business lines, ensuring we efficiently and effectively deliver the excellent claims service that our brokers and customers demand. With a degree in Chemical Engineering and a qualified lawyer, Dominic has worked in insurance claims since 1997, managing the most complex of cases, defining best practice standards for claims handling and leading teams across all business lines. He joined QBE from Aviva UK and Ireland General Insurance, prior to which he held legal positions. He has chaired the ABI Personal Injury Committee and engaged with the government on diverse issues such as legal costs, flooding and more recently discussions surrounding the Mesothelioma untraced insurer scheme.

Cheryl Curtis Chief Human Resources Officer Cheryl has experience in a variety of HR as well as line management roles, most recently in the professional services sector where she specialised in HR Service and Reward. She is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.Cheryl has accountability for the following areas of HR: HR Business Partners in Distribution for UK, Ireland and European Markets, Reward, Employee Relations, Programme Management Office, Payroll, HR Systems, HR Management Information, Shared Service, Recruitment and Learning and Development
