  2. Test Trivia #3

  3. Question #1 • What is the who, what, where, and HS of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party?

  4. Answer to question #1 • Omigosh…where do you start…the German Workers’ Party was a political party in Germany that Adolf Hitler had joined in 1919. It was not well-known at that time and could be considered a ‘right-wing extreme nationalist group’. Within 2 years Hitler had come to lead this group and renamed it the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, or the Nazi party for short. It attracted large numbers and members and even had it’s own party militia (SA)…the Nazi party would go one to control the Reichstag and eventually Germany itself through it’s leader, Hitler…the rest is…well, as they say, history.

  5. Question #2 • What is the who, what, where, and HS of the Enabling Act?

  6. Answer to question #2 • This one can be short and sweet…the Enabling Act was a fateful act enacted in the Reichstag…once this line was passed, there was no going back for the German state…it came on the heels of the Reichstag fire…it was passed in response to the uncertainty the fire caused…March of 1933, the act passed with a 2/3 majority in the Reichstag…it gave the government (or Hitler) the power to suspend any and all Constitutional forums for 4 years while all the issues within the country were dealt with…can we all see where this is going??????

  10. Answer to question #4 • The Nuremberg Rallies were annual rallies held by the Nazi party every September…they were meant to rally Germans to a unified cause…the cause became apparent in 1935, when at the annual rally the first set of anti-Semitic laws/policies were introduced and set in motion. These ‘Nuremberg Laws’ as they came to be known, were racially motivated and included such stipulations as excluding German Jews from being German citizens and the forbiddance of marriage and extramarital relations between Jews and German citizens…it was the beginning of a long line discriminatory acts against Jews in Germany culminating in the Holocaust (619)
