  3. What is Yammer? • Yammer is a fun, easy, quick way to communicate with your RETA professional learning community. • RETA is hosting a private Yammer community only for RETAzens. If you are in a RETA related program you are a RETAzen!

  4. What is Yammer for? • Collaborating to solve problems • Discussing projects within Groups (i.e. C21CL, PVIA, & BeBOLD) • Sharing news and links • Sharing event outcomes and highlights • Connecting geographically distributed teams • Finding local subject‐matter experts • Find answers to previously asked questions • File or photo sharing • Help new employees get up‐to‐speed • Reduce email inbox overload • Much more…

  6. Three ways to get help • Click on ‘help’ in lower right hand corner. • Check with your RETA Instructor and fellow team members to see if they can help. • Contact your project’s Yammer admin.   7. How to Yam • You will be invited to join. Follow the link. • You are immediately able to Yammer, go ahead and create your first post. Step 2: Click Update Step 1: Type your post here.

  8. Update Your Profile • Click Profile in the Menu, next to Home • Click Edit Profile, fill out what you are comfortable sharing • Click Picture and consider adding a real picture or familiar avatar of yourself

  9. Join Your Group • Click Groups and click the Join button by your group • One of theseshould bestdescribe you  • PVIA • C21CL • BeBold

  10. Where do you want to post? I want this post to go to all RETA folks. Select where you want the post to appear here. • ‘My Colleagues’ goes to everyone in the RETAzens Yammer community. • Choosing your group name means the post only goes the group. I only want this post to go to my group.

  11. Use this box to viewdifferent types of Yams Each of these filters your network in a different way. For example My Feed = Updates from people and feeds you have decided to follow

  12. Choose your Settings • Click on settings to access your control panels. • Choose if and how you want get updates for features like • text (SMS) • instant messaging (IM) • email

  13. Yammer With Desktop App • Use the Desktop application to stay connected without going to website. • Click the Applications link at the bottom of Yammer, download & install.

  14. Yammer With Your Cell Phone • To use your cell phone, go to Profile> Edit Profile > SMS and follow the directions.

  15. So what should I do next? • Log in • Complete your profile • Join your group • Post a short introduction
