  1. To use good ruijie switches in your company 1 What is a switch? Switching, switching is a general term for the technology of sending the information to be transmitted to the corresponding route that meets the requirements according to the needs of transmitting information at both ends of the communication, using manual or automatic equipment methods. A Ruijie switch in a broad sense is a device that completes the information exchange function in a communication system. This process is an exchange established manually. Of course, we have already popularized program-controlled switches, and the switching process is done automatically. In the computer network system, the proposal of the exchange concept is an improvement to the shared work mode. The HUB hub we have introduced before is a shared device. The HUB itself cannot identify the destination address. When the A host in the same LAN transmits data to the B host, the data packets are transmitted in broadcast mode on the HUB-based network. , each terminal determines whether to receive it by verifying the address information of the data packet header. That is to say, in this working mode, only one set of data frame communication can be transmitted on the network at the same time, and if a collision occurs, it has to be retried. This method is to share network bandwidth. The Ruijie switch has a very high bandwidth back bus and internal switch matrix. All the ports of the Ruijie switch are connected to this back bus. After the control circuit receives the data packet, the processing port will search the address comparison table in the memory to determine the NIC (network card) of the destination MAC (the hardware address of the network card). On which port, the data packet is quickly transmitted to the destination port through the internal switching matrix. If the destination MAC does not exist, it is broadcast to all ports. After receiving the port response, the Ruijie switch will "learn" a new address and add it to the internal address. table.

  2. Exchanges and exchanges originated from the telephone communication system (PSTN), and we can still see such scenes in old movies: the chief (calling user) picks up the microphone and shakes it violently, and the central office is a row of wires. After receiving the connection request on the machine, the waitress wearing the headset plugs the cable into the corresponding outlet to establish a connection for the two clients until the call ends. This uses switches to also "segment" the network, which allows only necessary network traffic to pass through the switch by referring to the address table. Through the filtering and forwarding of the switch, broadcast storms can be effectively isolated, error packets and error packets can be reduced, and sharing conflicts can be avoided. A Ruijie switch can transmit data between multiple port pairs at the same time. Each port can be regarded as an independent network segment, and the network devices connected to it can enjoy all the bandwidth independently without competing with other devices. When node A sends data to node D, node B can send data to node C at the same time, and both transmissions enjoy the full bandwidth of the network and have their own virtual connections. If a 10Mbps Ethernet switch is used here, then the total throughput of the switch at this time is equal to 2×10Mbps=20Mbps, and when using a 10Mbps shared HUB, the total throughput of a HUB will not exceed 10Mbps. In short, a Ruijie switch is a network device that is based on MAC address identification and can complete the function of encapsulating and forwarding data packets. The switch can "learn" the MAC address and store it in the internal address table. By establishing a temporary switching path between the originator and the target receiver of the data frame, the data frame can directly reach the destination address from the source address. 2 What is the function of the switch? "Switching" is a word that appears most frequently in today's network. From bridging to routing to ATM to telephone system, it can be applied to any occasion. It is unclear what is the real switching. In fact, the word exchange first appeared in the telephone system, specifically referring to the exchange of voice signals between two different telephones. The equipment that completes this work is the telephone exchange. So from the original point of view, switching is just a technical concept, that is, to complete the forwarding of signals from the entrance to the exit of the device. Therefore, as long as it is and conforms to this definition, all devices can be called switching devices.

  3. It can be seen that "switching" is a word with a wide range of meanings. When it is used to describe the second layer of data network equipment, it actually refers to a bridging device; and when it is used to describe the third layer of data network device, also refers to a routing device. The Ethernet switch we often talk about is actually a multi-port layer-2 network device based on bridge technology, which provides a low-latency and low-overhead path for forwarding data frames from one port to another arbitrary port. It can be seen that there should be a switching matrix at the core of the switch to provide a path for communication between any two ports, or a fast switching bus so that data frames received by any port are sent from other ports. In actual equipment, the function of the switch matrix is often completed by a dedicated chip (ASIC). In addition, there is an important assumption in the design idea of Ethernet switches, that is, the speed of the switching core is so fast that the usual large flow of data will not cause congestion. And infinity (contrary to this, the idea in the design of ATM switches is that the ability to exchange is limited relative to the amount of information transmitted). Although the Ethernet layer 2 switch is developed based on the multi-port bridge, after all, switching has its richer features, making it not only the best way to obtain more bandwidth, but also makes the network easier to manage.
