  5. There are also non-SPIRAL2 interests related to study weak isomeric decays produced after fission or fragmentation of relativistic beams from FAIR, within the DESPEC experiment Fast beam Coulex/transfer reactions within HISPEC exp. Studying very weak gamma branches are also of astrophysical importance.

  8. Novel„g-telescope”: highly granularinner (hemi-)sphere made from e.g. LaBr3 for low energies (and pairs) detection + less granular outer (hemi-)sphere either new or from existing high-energy g-detectors for high energy photons Name PARIS since it is a natural follow-up of HECTOR+HELENA array from Milano-Krakow-Copenhagen collaboration

  9. Simulations: Lyon (Stezowski, Schmitt) Krakow-Debrecen-Orsay (Ciemala et al.)

  10. PARIS prototype (SPIRAL2 PP) Work started: Krakow + York + …

  11. Synergy with neutron detectors? Neutron-gamma discrimination g TOF-Energy spectrum from HECTOR BaF2 detector Time resolution <1 ns Common setup? 4/6 PARIS + NW + 1p Agata +…. Response of PARIS to neutrons? Common digital electronics? Digital trigger? Pulse shape discrimination? Tracking?

  12. Status of the FP7 SPIRAL2 PP project

  13. SEVENTH FRAMEWORK PROGRAMME FP7-INFRASTRUCTURES-2007-1 Construction of new infrastructures - preparatory phase The main goal of the SPIRAL 2 Preparatory Phase is to elaborate and sign the consortium agreement allowing for the construction and operation of the facility as a fully international structure.

  14. From EC referee report: 5.1 MEuro  3.9 MEuro Information from Marek Lewitowicz (4.10.2007): We are expected to finish the negotiation process by October 31, 2007. If everything goes smoothly we will sign the Consortium Agreement and the Grant Agreement by December 2007 or January 2008. However, the project might start officially already on November 1, 2007. During the SPIRAL 2 Week in the end of November (26-30/11/2007) we will organise a "Kick-off" meeting for the FP7 SPIRAL 2 Preparatory Phase.

  15. Deliverables/Milestones • (T5.8) Neutron Detector • Interim report: The interim report will summarize the study of the detector materials, the design development, and the Monte Carlo simulations - month 12 • Detector prototype – month 15 • Report on tests of the prototype – month 24 • Final report - month 24 • Memorandum of Understanding for the Neutron Detector Collaboration – month 36
