  4. 04 The Orava reservoir, set amidst beautiful natural scenery, has in its center the Slanica Island of Art. Remains of Slanica, one of the inundated villages, with its church and calvary, now form the island. The dam was completed in 1953. Inside the church and the adjacent grounds are exhibitions of traditional folk art - Slovak folk sculpture and painting - Oravian stonework from the 18. and 19. century The exhibited pieces of art are among the most popular cultural monuments in Orava. In summer a ferry from the mainland offers visitors transfer to the island. Wikipedia

  5. 04 En el hermoso paisaje natural en medio de la presa de Orava se encuentra la isla de “Slanica de arte”. La iglesia barroca y el calvario eran originalmente el sitio dominante de la aldea que en 1953 al construirse la presa de Orava fue inundada por sus aguas. Dentro de la iglesia, así como en el exterior hay exposiciones de arte popular tradicional: - Escultura y pintura eslovaca - Piedra Oraviana de los siglos XVIII y XIX Las exposiciones se encuentran entre los monu-mentos culturales más populares, gracias a la disponibilidad de un crucero personal.
