  6. IslasBallestas is a group of rocky islands in the Pacific Ocean, near the Peruvian coast. They are located 260 km south of Lima, near the city of Paracas. Birds and large mammals on the islands can only be seen from the boats that tourists use to sail to the islands. During the trip, visitors can see also El Candelabro on the Paracas Peninsula. It is a huge geoglyph that could serve as a beacon for sailors. The island is home mainly to pelicans, albatrosses, seagulls, penguins and seals. The boats approach the islands close enough so that visitors can enjoy the daily lives of their inhabitants. Visiting the islands is probably the most famous activity along the Peruvian coast in terms of ecotourism. Islas Ballestas es un grupo de islas rocosas en el Océano Pacífico, cerca de la costa peruana. Están ubicados a 260 km al sur de Lima, cerca de la ciudad de Paracas. Las aves y los grandes mamíferos de las islas solo se pueden ver desde los barcos que utilizan los turistas para navegar hacia las islas. Durante el viaje, los visitantes también pueden ver El Candelabro en la Península de Paracas. Es un geoglifo enorme que podría servir de faro a los marineros. La isla alberga principalmente pelícanos, albatros, gaviotas, pingüinos y focas. Los barcos se acercan a las islas lo suficientemente cerca para que los visitantes puedan disfrutar de la vida cotidiana de sus habitantes. Visitar las islas es probablemente la actividad más famosa de la costa peruana en términos de ecoturismo. Vtáky a veľké cicavce na ostrovoch je možné pozorovať len z lodiek, ktorými sa turisti k ostrovom priplavia. Počas cesty môžu návštevníci uvidieť El Candelabro na polostrove Paracas. Je to obrovský geoglyf, ktorý mohol slúžiť ako maják pre námorníkov. Na ostrove žijú predovšetkým pelikány, albatrosy, čajky, tuičniaky a tulene. Loďky sa priblížia k ostrovom dostatočne blízko, aby si návštevníci mohli vychutnať každodenný život ich obyvateľov. Návšteva ostrovov je z hľadiska ekoturistiky asi najznámejšia aktivita pozdĺž peruánskeho pobrežia.
