Introduction & Background • Video Presence(VP) System • Concept of presence • Psychological sense of "being there" in environment based on technologically founded immersive base • Three types of presence • Personal presence • The extent to which a person feels part of the environment • Social presence • The extent to which others (human and non- human ) exist in the environment • Environmental presence • The extent to which the environment acknowledges and interacts with the participants

  6. Motivation • Many users want to present reality • Immersive Collaboration Meeting • Supporting reality meeting environment • Using concept of presence • World issue and market • Many companys concentrate on this field • Market is a wide scope.

Proposed Approch • Understand library in VLC • Using by library : libraw1394, libiec 61883, mpeg2 dec, dvgrap • libraw 1394 – Ieee 1394 network acquisition in Linux • Libiec 61883 – Channel selection about multiple input stream • Mpeg2 dec – mpeg2 transmission in vlc • Dvgrap – HDV Image capture and play in vlc

Conclusion • Success chapter 1 : VP system • Two Jvc camera transmission in Tiled display • Similar multi view system(parallel) • Using by VLC and SVC software • Problem • Frame rate very low (CPU limit) • A little delay existence but there is no large difference • Future work • Overcome low frame rate • A cause analysis about frame rate • Examine Two machine or more… • Eliminate delays • Study vlc system and mpeg2 transmission system • Source coding analysis of VLC • Find synchronization method
